Event Details

In today's competitive environment it is essential to an organisations success that consumers are able to use products effectively. Therefore companies who understand and invest in product usability throughout the development cycle will gain competitive advantage of improved ease of use.

Focusing on the product development strategy, you will learn how the User Centred Design (UCD) process can fit best into your strategy for optimal results. You'll get hands on experience to work through a hardware design process from understanding the user and business requirements through usability testing to product marketing. Delegates will gain insight into the issues facing users and the best ways to eliminate these. You will learn real practical tools and how and when to apply them to effectively utilise your budget and reduce the lifecycle process.

The course is aimed predominately at product development managers, designers, marketing specialists and anyone involved in the product development cycle.

By the end of the days training you will:

  • Understand the key benefits of integrating product usability into the development cycle.
  • Understand the needs of your users.
  • Be able to work through a UCD process during product development.
  • Be able to integrate a UCD process into your organisation.
  • Be able to utilise appropriate techniques based on developmental requirements.
  • Be able to Specify and measure metrics to evaluate the success of your product.

You will also be given the opportunity to Network with like minded professionals in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

About the Trainer

This course is provided by usability consultant Mark Westwater. Mark has a wealth of experience in product usability, working on numerous projects for high profile clients such as Honeywell and Keypoint Technologies. Mark uses his experience to illustrate points and give relatable examples his practical and enthusiast approach will ensure your understand of the topic and give you key skills that you can integrate into your own operations.

Course Cost

The one day course costs £300 + VAT (£352.50 incl VAT) and includes a course book with copies of all slides and reference materials, as well as lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
